Discover the Wonderful Wilderness of Bandhavgarh Jungle

In this present era, when cities have transformed into the jungles of concrete then a sojourn in the lap of nature's flora and fauna is the best option to rejuvenate own self. Our country is blessed with vast regions of wild, untamed, unspoiled green lands which serves as habitat to various species of wild life which are now reserved by our government as sanctuaries and national parks.

The central part of our country ie the state of Madhyapradesh is covered with lush canopy of forest teems with rare species of wild life. Bandhavgarh national park which is situated at a distance of 164km away north- east of Jabalpur, Madhyapradesh. It belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges.

This rambling wild pasture is the abode of 22 species of mammals that includes Tigers, Rhesus macaque, Porcupine, Langur, Golden Jackal, Indian Gazelle, Bengal Wolf, Fox, Ratel, Sloth Bear, Ruddy Mongoose, Small Indian Civet, Common Palm Civet, Leopard, , Wild Boar, Indian Muntjac, Sambar Nilgai, Gaur, Indian Pangolin, Northern Palm Squirrel, Hare, Chital, Four-horned Antelope, Black-buck and 250 breeds of birds. The site of these fearsome wild animals will surely make one to
feel the thrill of jungle. The only theory which is applicable in this jungle is the Darwin's survival of fittest theory.

Earlier this area has the highest density of tigers but now its strength has drastically reduced to only 42 to 56. Due to which in the year 1968, Indian government has declared it as a national park to increase the number of tigers and also the strength of the endangered white tigers of Rewa.

An elephant safari is the most favorable safari of the tourists to spot the tigers stalk on hare , deer and many more herbivores animals. Apart from elephant safaris , tourist also takes four -wheelers to enter this park. A binocular is must in this safari as it will help to watch these untamed animals from a safest distance.

There is a fort which is known as Bandhavgarh fort which is hidden deep in the heart of the Bandhavgarh national park. The view of the entire region of this park from the fort top of 800m high is a fantastic experience. Another spectacular place nearby to this national park is the Kalchuri Archelogical park which houses some rare historical items of bygone era.

There is a small shop outside the park from where one can purchase souvenirs, t-shirts having tiger printed on them , books and maps as everlasting memory of this trip.
